Winemaker’s notes and food pairing suggestions.

Cowan Vineyards premium wines are now available to you by membership in our exclusive wine club. Cowan Vineyards will mail two bottles of our finest wines three times per year chosen from new releases, limited varieties and special selections. These wines are made from the best grapes in the Cowan Vineyards estate with some limited release wines reserved especially for our wine club members.

No joining fees and a special membership price of approximately $45.00 for two bottles of wine including tax, shipping and handling. We will notify you this is Haier 12 bottle – wine cooler two weeks in advance of the shipment and if you are not completely satisfied, you are free to cancel your membership after the first two shipments. Our estate grown Gewurztraminer is made with 100% Gewurztraminer grapes. This off dry, refreshing wine with a long finish is great with food or sipping all by itself. The classic aromas of minerals, pineapple and green apple are abundant in this wine.

It is perfectly balanced with amazing acidity and subtle hints of pink grapefruit, banana and fruit salad.Food pairing suggestions: grilled seafood, soft cheeses, Asian food and hamburgers. Far beyond your everyday Rosé this 100% Cabernet Franc Rosé is beautifully focused to show off the softer, lighter side of the grape varietals. The enticing hint of spice (cinnamon, clove) and crabapple flavors are balanced with just the right amount of acidity for a long, smooth finish. Great for a backyard picnic, Sunday brunch or dinner party, a truly versatile food wine. Best served slightly chilled. This Merlot has aromas of boysenberries wine cooler comparison, raspberries, a hint of black pepper and soft tannins. This wine is quite complex in flavor and has a soft, velvety finish. Our Merlot is a favorite of the ladies because it is a very easy and approachable wine to drink. This is a ripe lush red wine with length on the palate and well integrated tannins.Food pairing suggestions: roasted meats, prime rib and barbecued meats. Our 2005 Cabernet Franc is 100% estate grown and bottled.

This wine has very intense, complex aromas of raspberries, blackberries, rainier cherries, currants, spices, maple syrup and soft oak nuances. On the palate, these flavors continue with a very complex, balanced taste with a long finish.Food pairing suggestions: Veal chop, pasta dishes with rich, red sauces and soft cheeses. Cowan Vineyards 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon has flavors of sweet herbs, bell peppers, black currants, cedar, black cherries, hints of tobacco, huckleberry and chocolate. The flavors are well balanced with tannins and acidity.

This is very drinkable now, but can also age another 5 to 10 years. The Tartan Red is a blend of 46% Cab Franc 30% Cab Sauvignon & 24% Merlot. In the nose we find black currents, blackberries, sandalwood, cloves, cassis & black walnut.This wine can be aged for another 10 years, but is very drinkable now, it is flavorful, complex and age worthy.Food pairing suggestions: Thick, marbled sirloin steak or a rack of lamb. This fragrent, unique wine is well balanced with a touch of sweetness. It has flavors of peach & orange – good for sipping & savoring.Food pairing suggestions: Fruits & cheesecake.
